Linguistics is a science that studies language as a concept and separate languages, their qualities, characteristics, historical development, laws of construction.
The master's program in English is aimed at deepening and developing theoretical and applied knowledge in the field of language and speech activity. The aim of the program is to create the skills necessary for successful activities in the multicultural and polylingual environment of modern philological education. Graduates of the master program will be able to develop theoretical and applied research in a multicultural environment
Educational Process
The training on this specialty is provided by the Department of General and Russian Linguistics. The educational process uses the resources of the educational and scientific Laboratory of Experimental Linguistics and Phonetics.
The specificity consists in special attention to the general theory of language and linguistic comparativistics, an in-depth study of the language system in the scientific, theoretical and practical aspects. Since the teaching is entirely in English, the program attracts Russian students who want to achieve excellence in foreign languages and graduates of foreign universities.

Philology in the System of Modern Humanities, Theory and History of Linguistics, General Linguistics, Theory of Cross-Cultural Communication, Information Technologies, Linguistic Semantics, Linguistic Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis, Comparative and Contrastive, Language Studies.
Practice
Students undergo practical training as professors and researchers at the RUDN philological faculty, participate in research projects jointly with their professors.
Career
Graduates will be ready to work in the educational, scientific-methodical and scientific environment, carry out independent scientific research, in particular:
- development of innovative methods and creation of a systematic methodology of linguistics;
- formation of strategies and programs of independent educational and research activities;
- creation of interdisciplinary comparative descriptions of languages.
This makes it possible to work at universities, research centers, translate and edit, and develop in the field of IT technologies.
