About the profession
The programme provides knowledge of international best practices and best technologies in the field of examination and certification of products and productions. Students will learn to solve problems of quality and safety of food raw materials and food products, to develop standards, project and design documentation. The programme trains to carryout certification of products, production, and management system of quality and safety control. Graduates will be able to develop innovative technologies and management system of quality and safety control at the enterprises.
The use and implementation of modern educational technologies provides a high level of quality of the educational process.

Laboratory and practical classes are conducted in the Center for cooperation use of scientific equipment of RUDN and laboratories of the agro-technological institute. Use of the latest laboratory equipment allows students to conduct up to date fundamental and applied research. Scientific achievements are actively used for the preparation of highly qualified and in-demand specialists. Students will conduct research to determine the quality and safety of food products for the security parameters of groups of homogeneous products. The results of the research work will be implemented in production.
As part of their practical courses or graduation requirements, students undergo practical training in leading enterprises, scientific research institutes of the meat and dairy production, the state and regional centers for standardization and metrology, certification bodies and accredited testing laboratories.

My name is Anastasia Ivanova. I study at the Agrarian-Technological Institute, in the magistracy in the direction Standardization and Metrology. I have earned my bachelor's degree here. Trainings take place on the basis of the rating system where points are awarded for attending lectures, seminars, performance of abstracts and laboratory works. Received scores subsequently form the final grade. In addition to lectures and practical classes at the University, we attended many exhibitions, seminars, workshops and conferences on topics related to our specialty. During the training at RUDN I had the opportunity to undergo internship at the Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation, as well as to participate in the competition for enrollment in the Youth personnel reserve of the Ministry of industry and trade. Internship programme included not only working at the Ministry, but also participation in business games, workshops, management games. I managed to enter in the Youth personnel reserve and top ten internship programme.
My name is Yulia Shram. From 2012 to 2016, I was studying at RUDN in the field of «Standardization and Metrology». During the training, I acquired knowledge and skills that contributed to my professional development. The training plan allowed us to put theoretical knowledge into practice. It should be noted that the training process included interactive programmes, visits to exhibitions, participation in international conferences, thanks to which we received actual information about changes in the field of ensuring the quality and safety of food products and industries.
My first professional success already began at the university. After the third year I had the opportunity to practice abroad. For two months, I was working at the Bavarian Union of Bakers, where I studied the peculiarities of the German system of standardization and regulatory and technical regulation at bakery and confectionery enterprises, participated in marketing research and visited bakeries requiring state support, and, of course, improved my level of German. Later I was practicing at the representative office of the German company TÜV SÜD in the countries of the EEA, TMS RUS (formerly TÜV SÜD RUS). During the practice, I extended my knowledge of quality management systems, the peculiarities of new versions of standards in this field. Upon completion of the practice, I was offered a job in this organization.
I owe my achievements to the faculty, which helped me to gain knowledge and skills in my specialty, to develop competences. Margarita Vasilyevna Kochneva, Associate professor, Ph.D. is a teacher who always thinks about her students, the opportunities for their development, offers participation in conferences, exhibitions, gives new ideas and directions for improving us as individuals and professionals. Years of training at RUDN will remain in my memory for a long time.
