About the Profession

According to Russian historiography the first diplomatic contacts were recorded at the period of Kievan Rus (Old East Slavic State under the reign of the Rurik dynasty). Europe monarchies and states were the objects of international and trade relations. In 860, after the Rus’s attack on Constantinople the first international treat of “peace and love” was created between Kievan Rus and the most powerful Europe state - Byzantine Empire.

It is obvious that our modern and global world still can’t avoid conflicts or, due to Samuel P. Huntington conflicts between civilizations. Today in Europe we could witness a new wave of resettlement (migration) of peoples, a new sort of conflicts and processes. Within the frame of this programme a student gets his/her education in two countries – Russia (Moscow) and Great Britain (Edinburgh) at two universities: RUDN University and the Edinburgh Napier University. In case he/she passes all the assessments successfully, defends his/her thesis successfully twice: in Moscow and in Edinburgh, a student receives two BA degrees – of Russian Federation and of Great Britain.
