About the programme
The institutionalization of international relations, as a direction of scientific knowledge that specifically studies the processes of interstate interactions and phenomena of world politics, acquired special significance after the First World War, when it became evident that the interdependence of states had acquired critical importance. Due to the fact that in the 21st century international relations have become the most important factor of world development, knowledge of their features and regularities has become especially in demand. Specialists, who are competent in the trends of development of world politics in general and in specific issues of international relations, are necessary for working in the civil service, international business and research projects, international departments of commercial and industrial corporations, the media.
Graduate students study modern conceptual approaches to solving foreign policy problems both in regional and global terms. Students learn about the specifics of solutions to international problems during lecture courses, at scientific seminars, during the independent research work and teaching internship.

The organization of the educational process creates an excellent opportunity for combining studies upon the master’s degree programme with the work by profession. Time of classes: 6.00 pm – 9.00 pm. The average workload is 8-14 hours per week.
Business games in the format of modeling international situations allow graduate students to understand the specifics of interrelations of international organizations, to get a visual representation of the dynamics of global political and economic processes. Substantive discussions on the specifics of the formation of Russia's foreign policy provide the opportunity to gain analytical skills. Graduate students annually undertake an internship in international departments of major trade, industrial and media corporations, universities, embassies and departments of international and interregional cooperation of public authorities.
Graduate students receive the knowledge necessary to work in international companies and corporations, state, interstate and non-governmental organizations, educational and research institutes. Successful mastering of the programme enables our graduate students to work as experts in world politics, diplomats, heads of international projects, international journalists.
