“Internal diseases” is a field of medical science that studies etiology, pathogenesis, semiotics, diagnostics, prognosis and prevention of diseases of internal organs. The field of research is the study of etiology and pathogenesis of diseases of internal organs: cardiovascular diseases, pathology of the respiratory, gastrointestinal tract, kidney diseases, diseases of connective tissue and joints, the study of clinical and pathophysiological manifestations of pathology of internal organs using clinical laboratory, radiation, immunological, genetic, pathomorphological, biochemical and other research methods; improvement of laboratory, instrumental and other methods of examination of therapeutic patients, improvement of diagnostic and differential diagnostics of diseases of internal organs; study of the mechanisms of action, efficacy and safety of medicines and drug-free modalities; improvement and optimization of therapeutic measures and prevention of the onset or exacerbation of diseases of internal organs.
The students continue to work actively at clinical sites of the training department, improving their skills, abilities and competences. They study clinical and theoretical disciplines.

The students undertake the internship at clinical sites of RUDN University, in the simulation center, in the Liver Research Center. They can also participate in clinical research, conducting scientific research, take part in international conferences, make presentations, publish research results.
PhD graduates with a specialization "Internal Diseases" are highly qualified specialists, who can conduct medical, scientific, research, pedagogical activities. PhD graduates can become highly qualified specialists, heads of medical institutions, engage in scientific research and teach.
