When I was just entering the postgraduate course at the Institute of Law of RUDN University, I couldn’t believe the world of possibilities opening up before me. But a year has already passed since then, and now being a 1st year postgraduate, I can say for sure: “Everything will be great!” A lot of emotions and impressions – and this is only the first year! I am sure that the next two years will be incredible. Here, we have plenty of opportunities to release our creative and research potential, find new acquaintances among the university students, among them young people from other countries. Participation in various social activities helps to get to become better acquainted with one another. All the competitions, festivals, concerts, charity actions help to make students’ life very eventful and bright!
This is a place where you are given unique opportunities, necessary knowledge, and a chance to develop your potential in any sphere that interests you, if you want it, and act to achieve it. With such an active position, I gained a lot of what the university offered: I received a scholarship, was awarded with a free educational tour of European countries (Brussels, Cologne, Amsterdam, the Hague, Prague); As a member of the university's basketball team, I have taken part in numerous competitions in the Russian Federation to name just a few things. We have progressive teaching modes, interesting classes, because they are conducted in such a way as to arouse interest both of students and professors; some of them involve postgraduates for greater motivation. Here, while holding some public offices both postgraduates and the other students can develop necessary management skills, try out different roles, and thus sort themselves out better, to become well-rounded persons.
First of all, when I was choosing a university, I was choosing among the top ones, top national universities. Having made a shortlist, I examined it with an eye toward possibilities of self-development. This was really important for me. Having analyzed this list I realized that the Institute of Law of RUDN University could provide the highest amount of activity for its students. The Institute gave me an opportunity to develop my personality. By receiving a diploma I not only got a certificate, but practical and theoretical knowledge which I apply on a daily basis. During the period of study at the university, I took part in numerous competitions and won scholarships. I rose through the ranks from a group trade-union leader to the chairman of the trade-union bureau of the Institute. The Institute of Law taught me teamwork, management of projects, it taught me how to come to an agreement and find common ground, and how to persuade and defend your point of view.
